The jihadist group JNIM (designated a terrorist group and banned in Russia) released a video of its attack on the town of Boala in the Namentenga province of Burkina Faso, which took place two days ago. The footage captures key stages of the assault, revealing the militants' tactics in the captured territories.
The video begins in the city's central square, which was apparently used by militants as a rallying point to regroup before advancing further. From there, the JNIM detachment moved toward a suspected Burkina Faso military position, where gunfire indicated a clash with government troops. The final stage of the attack involved a maneuver toward the local CSPS medical clinic, where the militants apparently looted supplies of medicine and equipment—a practice previously observed in their resupply operations.
The attack on Boala is part of a series of recent JNIM offensives in Burkina Faso. According to sources, such raids often result in casualties among soldiers and civilians, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region. Burkina Faso authorities have not yet commented on the details of the incident, but JNIM has previously described such actions as a "fight against the occupiers."
