The military in Alma-Ata was unexpectedly attacked by radicals.

Strong street fighting started again this morning in Alma-Ata. According to information obtained by the news and information agency Avia.pro, armed radicals launched several counterattacks on the military and security forces, who were busy carrying out a sweep of the central part of the city. It is known about the casualties from the government forces, however, the counter-attacks of the militants were successfully repulsed.

According to information provided by Kazakhstani media resources, very intense shooting was heard in the central part of Almaty. It is reported that the radicals unexpectedly attacked the security forces who were engaged in the anti-terrorist operation. At the same time, at least two powerful explosions are reported, the nature of which is not commented on.

It is known that the main forces of the radicals are concentrated in the central part of Almaty, since thanks to the arrival of the Russian military, the groups of militants were successfully defeated, as previously reported.

Experts note that at the moment the security forces and the military are faced with the task of cleaning up the central part of the city. At the same time, according to a number of assumptions, it will be possible to complete the anti-terrorist operation by Monday morning.
