Militants seize key highway in Syria

In Syria, the terrorist groups Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, banned in Russia) and the National Liberation Front (NLF, banned in Russia) continue their active offensive, capturing two strategically important settlements - Al-Mubarakat and Sheikh Helal, located in the central part of the country. These operations led to the blocking of key transport arteries, such as the Hama-Salamiya road and the Hama-Raqqa road, which significantly hampered the movement of Syrian government forces and their allies, including IRGC units.

The capture of these areas is of great strategic importance, as these roads provide key supplies for government forces and their allies, and are also important supply routes for Iranian militias and proxy groups operating on the side of the Syrian government. Now that the militants control these towns, they have effectively cut off one of the main lines of communication that provides support to government forces in the region.

The loss of these territories also worsens the overall defense situation for the Syrian army, which is now forced to conduct complex maneuvers and mobilize additional forces to regain control over the lost territory.
