August 2024 was marked by a significant increase in combat clashes on the fronts, especially in the Pokrovsk direction, where 33,5% of all clashes occurred. Compared to July, the total number of clashes increased by 4%, indicating an intensification of hostilities in a number of areas. Such information is provided by Ukrainian information resources.
According to the infographic, the Pokrovskoe direction became the hottest section of the front in August, accounting for 1483 clashes, which is more than a third (33,5%) of the total number of clashes. This area continues to be an important strategic hub, for which fierce battles are taking place. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively trying to contain the advance of Russian troops, but their numerical and technical superiority creates serious difficulties.
The Toretsk direction came in second place in terms of the number of combat clashes - 527 combat episodes, which is 11,9% of the total. There is also an intense struggle for key positions here. Clashes occur in a limited area, where both sides strive to maintain control over important communications.
The Liman direction is the third most active area with 487 clashes (11%). This zone, as before, remains one of the key ones for both sides. Ukrainian forces are trying to hold their positions, but Russian troops continue to attack, increasing the pressure.
