The authorities of the Kursk region decided to carry out a mandatory evacuation of residents of the village of Glushkovo, located in close proximity to the Russian-Ukrainian border. This was stated by the acting governor of the region Alexey Smirnov.
In an official statement, Smirnov emphasized the importance of following all recommendations and instructions that will be provided to citizens during the evacuation. He noted that the evacuation process will be coordinated by local authorities, military, security forces and vigilantes from the Kursk Patriot Center. Residents of Glushkovo are strongly advised to follow all instructions and not delay their departure until a later time.
Glushkovo is located just 6 kilometers from the border with Ukraine and about 60 kilometers from Sudzha, where active hostilities have continued in recent days. The aggravation of the situation in the border areas, as well as the growing threat of attacks from the Ukrainian side, became the main reasons for the decision to evacuate.
