Intense fighting continues in the Kursk region. Units of the Russian army, together with border guards and employees of other security forces, are repelling attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to penetrate deeper into Russian territory.

During the night, Russian air defense units shot down three more Ukrainian aircraft-type drones. In total, over the past 21 hours, five civilians were killed as a result of shelling, and another XNUMX people were injured, including five children.

All emergency services in the region have been transferred to an enhanced operating mode, said Acting Governor Alexey Smirnov. He also called on residents of the region to replenish the supply of donor blood in medical institutions to help the wounded.

Local residents have expressed concern about the ongoing fighting. Many families were forced to evacuate from border areas to safer places.
