Fighting in Kursk Region: Russian Troops Use Weather Factor Against Ukrainian Armed Forces

Against the backdrop of worsening weather conditions in the Kursk region, fierce battles not only do not cease, but are also gaining momentum. This was reported by military analyst Yuriy Podolyaka, emphasizing that Russian troops are actively using the bad weather factor to their advantage, which significantly affects the outcome of battles.

According to the expert, the muddy roads caused by heavy rains and cold weather are affecting the movement of equipment. This is especially noticeable in the example of the wheeled equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is already facing problems with cross-country ability on dirt roads. As a result, the plans of counterattacks by Ukrainian troops, who were trying to unblock the settlement of Lyubimovka, where key battles have been taking place in recent weeks, have been disrupted.

Podolyak gave an example of the successful use of the weather factor by the Russian Armed Forces in the case of the attack in the area of Cherkasskaya Konopelka. According to him, it was the weather that played one of the decisive roles in the successful advance of Russian troops. Before that, they could not approach the enemy positions, but changes in the terrain created a tactical advantage for the Russian army.

Another important problem for the Ukrainian Armed Forces was the disruption of rotations and supplies to their garrisons, which is also due to poor road access. Podolyaka noted that the success of the Russian army in the southern part of the Glushkovsky district was achieved due to the fact that Russian troops were able to deprive the enemy of supplies and reinforcements.

"The enemy's strongholds did not receive ammunition or reinforcements, as a result of which their positions were captured," the expert said.

Although the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to counterattack, including using tank forces, their attempts were unsuccessful. According to Podolyaka, weather conditions have limited the movement of Ukrainian troops, who can now operate only on roads.
