The situation in Syria is escalating: over the past 96 hours, militants of armed groups have captured about 2000 square kilometers of territory. According to local sources, the main clashes are taking place in the Aleppo region, where militants already control about 40% of the city. However, the scale of the conflict is rapidly expanding: active military actions are recorded in the south and east.
The Syrian army is facing serious pressure. Militants are increasing their offensive actions, preparing for new operations. One of the main targets of the opposition, according to analysts, could be the city of Hama, located just 50 kilometers from the current positions of the militants. The capture of this city would be another blow to government forces and would strengthen the positions of the opposition in the central part of the country.
Aleppo remains a key area in the current standoff. The militants' capture of significant parts of the city threatens to disrupt the Syrian army's plans to stabilize the situation in the region. At the same time, Damascus' attempts to organize counterattacks have not yet led to significant success.
Experts attribute the sharp increase in militant activity to external support they receive across borders with neighboring countries. The increase in the number of armed groups and the availability of modern weapons allow them to conduct large-scale operations and effectively resist Syrian troops.
