Boeing and Rostec signed a memorandum on 19.11.2013/XNUMX/XNUMX to expand their joint activities. It is planned to create a second production facility - Ural Boeing Manufacturing (UBM). UBM will make aircraft components from titanium in the Urals in the "Titan Valley" in Russia.
“Today we are taking a very important step and expanding the terms of our cooperation on a mutually beneficial basis,” said Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner. “Rostec has been a reliable and valuable partner for Boeing for many years.”

In July 2009, Boeing and VSMPO-AVISMA, Russia's largest titanium producer, opened a 50/50 joint venture, UBM, based in Verkhnyaya Selda, Russia. UBM is a state-of-the-art facility that produces titanium parts for the world's most technologically advanced aircraft, the Boeing 787-8 and-9 Dreamliners.
Boeing forecasts that over the next decade will spend approximately $ 27 billion on Russian titanium, as well as other services and materials.
VSMPO-Avisma is Boeing partner and supplier of raw materials and components made of titanium since 1997, when Boeing signed its first contract with the Russian titanium producer.
