Boeing and Rostec


Boeing and Rostec open a new plant for the production of spare parts in Russian.

Boeing and Rostec signed a memorandum on the expansion of their joint activities 19.11.2013. It is planned to create a second production facility - Ural Boeing Manufacturing (UBM). UBM will make aircraft components from titanium in the Urals in the "Valley of Titan" in Russia.

“Today we are making a very important step and are expanding the terms of our cooperation on mutually beneficial terms,” said President Boeing Commercial Airplanes and CEO Ray Conner. “Rostec has been a reliable and valuable partner for Boeing for many years.”

In July, 2009 Boeing and VSMPO-AVISMA, Russia's largest titanium producer, opened the 50 / 50 joint venture - UBM, based in Verkhnyaya Selda, Russia. UBM is a modern enterprise that manufactures titanium parts for the most technologically advanced aircraft in the world, Boeing 787-8 and-9 Dreamliners.

Boeing forecasts that over the next decade will spend approximately $ 27 billion on Russian titanium, as well as other services and materials.

VSMPO-Avisma is Boeing partner and supplier of raw materials and components made of titanium since 1997, when Boeing signed its first contract with the Russian titanium producer.
