Russian Aerospace Forces bombers hit terrorists near Khmeimim airbase

Russian aviation continues to iron out the militants' positions near the Khmeimim airbase.

The jihadists who have become more active in the Syrian province of Latakia are again planning a series of provocations and attacks on both the positions of the Syrian Arab Army and the positions of the Russian military, in connection with which Russian bombers began to strike at the locations of the militants, their equipment and shelters. According to Syrian media reports, Russian aviation is actively striking an area located just a few tens of kilometers from the Khmeimim airbase.

The strikes are being carried out in the area of the Kbana settlement, and, if from the beginning of this year these strikes were the first, then in the last month this is already the third bombing of militant positions in this area.

It is noteworthy that the Russian military aviation is apparently trying to strike at the shelters of militants and underground warehouses with weapons and ammunition, as indicated by the fact that both conventional high-explosive and concrete-piercing ammunition were used.

It is known that the Turkish forces were actively deploying weapons and ammunition to this area, and in this direction the militants may well undertake attempts to storm the positions of the SAA and even attack the Russian military airfield "Khmeimim", in this connection, the Russian military is taking measures to counter jihadists.
