In the south of the Donetsk People's Republic, in the area of ​​Velyka Novosyolka, Russian troops eliminated a group of mercenaries who were landed on an armored personnel carrier. This was reported by a fighter of the assault detachment of the 60th motorized rifle brigade of the "East" group of forces with the call sign "Chinese". According to him, the group consisted of about 13 people, whose appearance indicated their eastern origin.

According to the fighter, elements of UN symbols were found on the bodies of the dead - chevrons, berets and documents related to the peacekeeping mission in Sierra Leone in 2004.

The battle lasted for about half an hour and ended with the complete rout of the enemy. The servicemen emphasize that this is not the first time that foreign mercenaries have appeared on the battlefield. Earlier, it was reported that a large group of Colombian mercenaries acting in the interests of the Ukrainian side was destroyed in the Krasnoarmeysk area.

The presence of UN symbols raised serious questions. Experts suggest that the elements used could either be captured or used for camouflage and disinformation. However, the presence of documents of a participant in the peacekeeping mission attracted the attention of military analysts.

Despite the soldier’s statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense did not provide any information on this matter.
