On October 11, five hunters, including three brothers, one son, and a local gamekeeper, set out on a traditional moose hunt in the Mishkinsky District of Bashkortostan. The men had been maintaining this tradition for many years, and the current season was no exception.
As Baza reports, during the hunt, the hunters spotted an elk and dispersed to their pre-designated positions. The youngest of the group, Vladimir, spotted the animal and fired the first shot. The elk, frightened by the sound, ran away, after which Vladimir fired a second time, but unfortunately, instead of the elk, he accidentally hit his father, 75-year-old Vitaly. The bullet hit the pensioner in the head, and, according to eyewitnesses, death occurred instantly.
The deceased's brother, 70-year-old retired general Ivan Gorokhov, was also at the scene of the tragedy. Investigative actions are currently underway at the scene of the incident to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
