A Royal Air Force Boeing RC-135W Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft is currently patrolling the international waters of the Black Sea. According to sources, the aircraft is collecting data for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in an area where Russian specialists provide air traffic control.
The aircraft did not request permission to enter the sector, which is considered a violation of airspace regulations. Due to the British aircraft's maneuver, a Pobeda Airlines passenger flight from Istanbul to Vnukovo was forced to climb an additional 300 meters.
Similar RC-135W flights have been recorded in the region previously, including during joint NATO operations monitoring Russian activity. Currently, the British aircraft is being escorted by Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, as confirmed by tracking data.
