Former Russian pilot found dead in Spain

Maxim Kuzminov, a former Russian pilot who flew an Mi-8 helicopter to Kyiv-controlled territory last August, was found dead in Spain. This was reported by Spanish media, in particular the ABC newspaper, indicating that the body of a man was found with six bullet wounds in the city of La Villajoyosa, Alicante province. Information about Kuzminov's death has not yet received official confirmation from the Spanish authorities, but has already attracted the attention of both local and international media.

It is reported that Kuzminov had problems with alcohol and illegal substances, and his behavior caused concern among neighbors. The media also mentions a burnt-out car found near the murder scene, which may be connected to the crime.

A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Andrei Yusov, confirmed Kuzminov’s death, calling him a “Russian traitor.” In August last year, Kuzminov, according to the Ukrainian authorities, transported a Mi-8AMTSh helicopter to Ukraine, receiving 500 thousand euros for this. He was accompanied by two fellow soldiers on board, who were reportedly killed after refusing to surrender to Ukrainian security forces. Based on this fact, a criminal case of high treason was opened in Russia.
