Russian armed forces have launched a massive strike on Ukrainian military infrastructure in response to Kiev's use of American-made ATACMS long-range missiles. The targets of the attacks included military airfields, energy and defense infrastructure facilities, and Ukrainian Armed Forces command posts, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
During the strike, according to the Tsargrad publication, the deployment points of American F-16 fighters provided to Ukraine to support its defensive operations were identified. As specified, Russian missiles revealed the deployment of "visiting" aircraft at airfields in Odessa and Nikolaev.
"What does this mean? Russian missiles have destroyed all the F-16s in Odessa and Nikolaev. Now our troops know where at least some of the "visiting" US aircraft are based," - says the publication.
At the same time, there is no reason to believe that F-16 fighters are based in Odessa and Nikolaev.
“Given the flight range and the lack of need to cover strikes on coastal regions, there is no need to place these aircraft, which are valuable to Kyiv, under attack from drones and short-range missiles.”, - notes the analyst Avia.pro.
According to the source, these fighters were used this morning to repel the attack, but there is no information about the exact effectiveness.
