According to the American television channel CBS, Iran may strike back at Israel as early as April 12. The attack is expected to use hundreds of missiles and drones. Such data came from intelligence and were confirmed after the Wall Street Journal reported on Tehran's plans to retaliate in connection with the Israeli military strike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus.
The publication clarifies that Iran is considering the possibility of launching a strike in the next 24-48 hours and the Israeli authorities are already preparing for a possible attack that could come from both the north and the south. Officials acknowledged that it would be difficult for Israelis to defend against an attack of this scale. They also do not rule out that Iran may choose a smaller attack to avoid a sharp escalation of the conflict, but believe that Iran's response will be inevitable.
Due to rising tensions, the US Embassy in Israel has advised American citizens not to leave major cities, which are considered better protected. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that the measures taken by Iran will be limited in order to prevent escalation.
It was previously reported that Iran plans to attack dozens of sensitive targets in Israel, including energy infrastructure, using ballistic missiles and explosives carried by drones.
