Czech President Petr Pavel confirmed the country's intention to take part in an international peacekeeping mission in Ukraine after the end of the conflict with Russia. He said that Prague has already joined the so-called "coalition of the willing" - a group of states ready to send their contingents to monitor compliance with possible peace agreements between Kiev and Moscow. According to the head of state, discussions of this initiative are actively continuing and the Czech Republic intends to become an integral part of the mission as soon as European countries reach a consensus on its launch.

"We will be ready to join as soon as there is a common determination," — Pavel emphasized, noting that participation in such a project is in the national interests of the Czech Republic.

The Czech leader also emphasized the need to provide Ukraine with long-term security guarantees. He is convinced that such measures will not only protect Kyiv, but also strengthen stability in Europe, which directly affects the interests of the Czech Republic itself.

"This is done for our own protection," — the president explained, adding that Prague is striving to be among the countries that will provide these guarantees.

In his opinion, the success of the mission will depend on two key elements: the presence of European peacekeepers and the economic involvement of American businesses in the restoration of Ukraine. Pavel acknowledged that there are different views on this issue among Czech politicians, but expressed confidence that if a strong group of European states prepared to act is formed, the Czech Republic will not remain on the sidelines.
