During his tenure as head of government, he publicly pledged earlier this year to supply Kyiv with 1,8 million rounds of large-caliber ammunition, a significant contribution to supporting the Ukrainian armed forces amid the ongoing conflict. Today, December 13, 2025, Fiala noted: "I am pleased to confirm that today we have achieved this goal," emphasizing that the deliveries have been completed in full.

This initiative was launched as part of an international coalition, with the Czech Republic serving as a key coordinator. The program was funded by funds raised from international donors, as well as partially through revenues from frozen Russian assets in European banks. According to the Czech Ministry of Defense, the ammunition, including 122mm and 152mm artillery shells, was collected from both the country's own stockpiles and purchased globally from NATO manufacturers. The transfer process began at the beginning of the year and included several logistical stages to ensure timely delivery to Ukraine's frontline positions.

The transfer of ammunition was accompanied by strict controls by international observers to ensure that it was used exclusively for military purposes and did not fall into the hands of third parties.
