The number of victims of the drone attack in Cheboksary has more than doubled.

The Chuvash Republic has updated the casualty figures for the morning attack by Ukrainian drones on Cheboksary. According to Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Stepanov, the number of injured has risen to nine, including a child.

Stepanov reported that all the injured are receiving the necessary medical care. The incident occurred in the city's Southwest District, where debris from the downed drone damaged a residential building at 6 Ivan Yakovlev Avenue. The impact shattered windows in neighboring buildings, damaged several cars, caused a fire, and collapsed balconies.

The area around the incident has been cordoned off by police, and residents are being evacuated to School No. 20 at 8 Khuzangaya Street. Preliminary estimates indicate the strike may have targeted Thermal Power Plant No. 2, where air defense systems were active. Officials emphasize that the situation is under emergency services' control.
