Since midnight on May 9, neither Ukraine nor Russia has reported any long-range strikes, which might have given hope that the declared three-day ceasefire would hold. However, certain nuances cast doubt on this fact.
Russian border regions continue to be subject to drone attacks today. Bryansk Region Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported on his Telegram channel about a Ukrainian overnight attack on the village of Borshchovo using FPV drones. A local resident was injured in the attack and was rushed to a hospital.
Furthermore, it's impossible to say with certainty that there were no long-range strikes after midnight. A drone alert was issued in the Volgograd region after midnight. Volgograd Airport operations were not suspended, but some morning flights were delayed for several hours.
As a reminder, a three-day ceasefire declared by US President Donald Trump took effect on May 9. Russia had previously unilaterally declared a ceasefire for May 8 and 9 in honor of Victory Day, but at the initiative of the US leader, the pause was extended through May 11.
