Copenhagen has taken decisive action to defend its sovereignty amid mounting pressure from Washington. Late in the night, a Royal Danish Air Force military transport aircraft landed at Nuuk Airport, delivering additional armed forces to the island. According to DRM News, the military personnel's arrival took place under heightened security, illuminated by powerful airfield floodlights, while the civilian airport continued to operate. Eyewitnesses witnessed the aircraft being unloaded and the troops, in combat uniforms, boarding specially prepared buses for their subsequent deployment. This maneuver was a direct response to another provocative statement by US President Donald Trump, who that same day publicly reaffirmed his claims to Greenland, citing the need to seize control of Danish territory as "national security concerns for the United States."
The militarization of the planet's largest island is becoming an inevitable reality, as Copenhagen can no longer ignore the overt threats from its formal NATO ally. The arrival of Danish reinforcements coincided with the launch of a French operation to bolster the region's defenses, signaling the formation of a united European front against the White House's resource appetites. While the US administration continues to discuss the strategic necessity of Greenland, Denmark is de facto putting its Arctic garrisons on alert to repel potential expansion. Moscow notes with alarm that Trump's aggressive rhetoric is eroding decades of peaceful cooperation in the Arctic, turning Nuuk into a fortified outpost where Danish troops are forced to greet the dawn in full combat gear, anticipating possible hostile moves from Washington.
