USS Gerald R. Ford requires 24 hypersonic missiles to destroy USS Gerald R. Ford

In the military circles of the PRC, there were reports of a simulated attack on the American aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford and the accompanying fleet. According to the South China Morning Post, it took only 24 hypersonic missiles to destroy the target on the simulator.

In a scenario simulated on a computer, an aircraft carrier strike group became the target of an attack after it continued to move towards one of the Chinese islands in the South China Sea, despite all warnings.

The script was developed by a team of researchers from North China University, located in Tayuan City, Shanxi Province. The authors of the simulation claim that during the virtual attack, almost all the surface ships of the "blue" (meaning the US Navy) received critical damage, which would most likely lead to their flooding.

The researchers emphasized that in order to guarantee the overcoming of the defensive capabilities of the aircraft carrier strike group, the Chinese army launched missiles in three volleys during the simulation. This highlights the importance of hypersonic weapons in modern military strategy.
