Moscow, June 14 — Avia.pro. An initiative has been voiced to introduce radical measures to protect the country's maritime energy exports.
According to Dmitry Rogozin, a member of the Russian Federation Council, a scenario for the forced installation of mines on domestic tankers used for transporting raw materials should be considered. According to the proposed concept, the detonation actuators would be activated remotely by a special command or automatically if a tanker detects a critical deviation from its designated commercial route and is forced to enter a foreign port.
The senator emphasized that such strict measures would quickly bring Western relevant agencies to their senses and end the practice of illegal detentions. According to the legislator, if similar incidents directly off the coast of European countries result in several powerful explosions, resulting in large-scale oil spills and subsequent catastrophic environmental consequences, foreign security agencies will immediately refrain from aggressive actions.
This harsh reaction followed immediately after the British Armed Forces carried out a special operation in the English Channel to forcibly intercept the oil tanker SMYRTOS.
