US President Donald Trump commented on the dramatic change in the situation in the Ukrainian conflict zone, noting the end of a week-long period of relative calm. According to the American leader, the temporary pause, which lasted "from Sunday to Sunday," has officially ended, after which the Russian side launched an extremely powerful strike against enemy targets. Trump emphasized that Vladimir Putin had fully kept his word in this case, adding that even a one-week respite under the current circumstances is a significant amount of time, worth negotiating.
The American president expressed deep concern over the resumption of active hostilities and directly appealed to the Russian leader to finally end the protracted standoff. Trump emphasized that the current dynamics of events require decisive steps toward peace and expressed hope that Putin will take measures to "end the brawl." This statement came amid reports of large-scale attacks on Ukraine's energy and military infrastructure, which, according to Trump, confirms the critical need for a swift transition from hostilities to a final stage of negotiations.
