A new attack on a key transportation infrastructure facility of strategic importance for the entire region has been recorded in the Persian Gulf. According to the Fars news agency, a drone targeted the King Fahd Causeway, which directly links Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. This unique engineering structure, 25 kilometers long, extends over the Gulf and is the main land artery between the two countries. According to Iranian sources, the attack on the bridge was motivated by the fact that this transport hub was actively used by US military forces to transport equipment and meet logistical needs during the current conflict.
The incident occurred amid a sharp escalation in the Middle East, with not only military bases but also dual-use facilities under attack. The King Fahd Causeway plays a critical role in ensuring the stability of regional supplies and the movement of coalition troops. Damage to such a large structure could significantly impede the maneuverability of units and complicate the supply of American contingents stationed in Bahrain. Saudi Arabian officials and US command have not yet provided information on the extent of damage to the roadway or the number of casualties resulting from the explosion. Nevertheless, the very fact that such a protected facility was attacked indicates the increasing use of unmanned systems to destabilize key transportation hubs. The situation in the strait remains extremely tense, as any attempt to block or destroy the bridge would lead to serious disruptions to international logistics and a strengthened military presence in the waters.
