Two Ukrainian Air Force helicopters shot down while trying to evacuate Azov commanders and NATO officers

Two more Mi-8 evacuation helicopters of the Ukrainian Air Force were shot down near Mariupol.

Another attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to evacuate members of the Azov regiment banned in Russia, mercenaries and NATO officers led to the destruction of two Ukrainian military helicopters. The latter were shot down in the suburbs of Mariupol during an evacuation flight.

According to information at the disposal of the Avia.pro news agency, the helicopters were detected in advance and when approaching the zone of destruction of air defense systems, fire was opened on them. These data were confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

At the moment, it remains unknown what happened to the two Ukrainian helicopters on board, however, there is evidence that, as before, the helicopter could transport representatives of Western intelligence or even special forces, as happened with a group of French officers, helicopter with which was shot down over the Sea of Azov.

The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the loss of two helicopters, however, given the ongoing attempts to evacuate members of the Azov regiment, foreign mercenaries and active NATO officers, experts believe that this is of some importance for Kyiv.

A little earlier it became known that the troops would continue the cleansing of Mariupol because of Kyiv's disinterest in the surrender of forces in the city.
