Traffic through the Severomuysky tunnel has been restored

On the East Siberian Railway in Buryatia, train traffic on the Itykit - Okushikan section has been resumed. This was reported in the telegram channel of Russian Railways (RZD).

According to the channel, at 18:20 Moscow time the first freight train passed through the Severomuysky tunnel after the incident. To eliminate the consequences of the alleged act of sabotage, more than 120 people and special equipment were involved. During repair work, trains moved along a bypass section, which led to a slight increase in travel time.

“Train traffic on the Itykit – Okushikan ESR section has been completely restored. At 18.20 Moscow time a freight train passed through the Severomuysky tunnel.", - the department reports.

Let us recall that on November 29, on the Itykit-Okushikan section, smoke occurred in one of the tanks with diesel fuel while moving through the tunnel. A few hours later, another serious incident occurred. This incident was classified as a terrorist attack, as reported by the media. According to CNN, the SBU may be responsible for this, however, there are no official comments yet.
