Ankara's double play: when using the S-400 air defense system in the Black Sea direction

After the announcement that Turkish fighters of Turkey, together with the planes of the Air Forces of Romania and Bulgaria, took off over the Black Sea to observe and escort Russian planes, another issue is being considered. It is connected with the fact that it was on the Black Sea coast that Turkish troops deployed Russian C-400 anti-aircraft missile systems in a test mode. If the tests were carried out on the Black Sea coast, could the Turkish Air Force use the radars of these systems to detect and track Russian aircraft?

It is important to note that not only Russian, but also NATO experts are puzzled by this issue. If in Russia Turkey is accused of using the S-400 radars to obtain data on the movement of the Russian Navy's aviation or aerospace forces, the West suspects Ankara of "conducting a double game in the Black Sea direction."

One of the versions is that the Turks in the Black Sea region with the help of S-400 systems "are monitoring not only Russian military aircraft, but also the aircraft of NATO partners." They then analyze the findings, deciding how best to use them to their advantage.

The United States even reproaches Turkey for the fact that the introduction of the S-400 air defense system into service "introduces an imbalance in the work of NATO air defense systems in the region." Conspiracy theorists believe that Turkey, realizing what is happening or not, is capable, through the use of the S-400 "Triumph", to transmit secret information to the Russians regarding NATO combat aviation flights, and on interaction systems during joint operations of the alliance.

The Turkish authorities had previously proposed to Washington to create a common working group that would study the materials on the S-400 case and "found that there is no negative impact on the joint NATO air defense system." However, in the United States, Ankara's proposal was ignored.

Conspiracy is a delicate thing. You never know who and what can dream? One thing is clear: Turkey took the right step by purchasing the S-400. And don't mind getting more.

Kindergarten. Air defense (and S-400 including) for work on any sides with one or another success. And sellers from the Russian Federation to the camp of the "potential enemy" know these basics. The author is not.
