Egypt signed a contract for the supply of Russian Su-35 fighters

Egypt ignored the US threats and began purchasing Russian Su-35s.

Despite threats from Washington to impose sanctions against Cairo for the purchase of Russian weapons, it became known that the authorities of this country completely ignored the threats and decided to purchase a large batch of Russian Su-4S generation 35 ++ combat aircraft.

Earlier it was reported that Egypt and Russia had indeed reached an agreement on Su-35 fighters. After the delivery of several combat aircraft into service with the Egyptian Air Force, the agreement was temporarily suspended. Nevertheless, in the near future Egypt will be transferred the remaining combat aircraft and within a few months this country will receive some of the most maneuverable and combat-ready fighters in the world.

Washington has not yet officially commented on Cairo's actions. Experts draw attention to the fact that the United States is unlikely to want to impose powerful sanctions on Egypt, realizing that the authorities of this country can block the passage through the Suez Canal for American warships and aircraft carrier strike groups.

To date, Su-35 fighters are in service with only two countries - Russia and China, however, now Egypt will officially become the third country armed with these combat aircraft.
