The ex-commander-in-chief of the Moscow anti-aircraft troops offers pensioners to be on duty on the roofs of houses and detect UAVs

Former head of Moscow's anti-aircraft missile forces, Sergei Khatylev, has proposed an unusual approach to boosting the country's defensive measures. In his address to the heads of administrations, he stated the need to organize duty of the local population to track unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

In his opinion, veterans of the Armed Forces, as well as pensioners with experience in anti-aircraft troops, can take responsibility for organizing and conducting duties. These duties involve monitoring the airspace from the roofs of buildings and identifying UAVs.

“The heads of administrations should organize the local population: air defense duty, duty at visual observation posts, duty on the roofs of houses. This should be done by civilians. It is exactly what needs to be used by veterans of the Armed Forces, retired PVEs who can tell, teach, show and be responsible for this work on a city and region scale. ”- said Khatylev.

Khatylev stressed that it is necessary to use the experience of the Great Patriotic War, when citizens, including children, participated in observing the sky using all means available to them, including binoculars.

Khatylev's statement caused quite serious criticism, since the latter's proposal is completely unconstructive.
