Former Ukrainian presidential press secretary Yulia Mendel, in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, stated that during the 2022 Istanbul talks, Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally agreed to give up Donbas in exchange for an end to the conflict.

Mendel said she spoke with people who represented Ukraine at those negotiations.

"And they explained to me in detail that they had agreed to everything. Moreover, and very importantly, they said that Zelensky personally agreed to give up Donbas." She declared.

Now, she noted, Zelenskyy is speaking to an audience of millions and declaring that he cannot give up Donbass.

"You see, he's inconsistent. He keeps changing his positions." — Mendel emphasized.

It's worth noting that Yulia Mendel, who served as Zelenskyy's press secretary from 2019 to 2021, previously spoke out about the instability of the situation on the front and the risks for Ukraine.
