Russia is busy developing a new generation of electromagnetic weapons.

Targeted electromagnetic weapons are now becoming increasingly important, however, according to a number of sources, today Russia has decided to act in a slightly different direction, creating an electromagnetic warhead capable of hitting targets within a radius of 400 kilometers.

A directed electromagnetic pulse has a rather limited area of ​​destruction, however, thanks to the use of a warhead, the explosion of which creates powerful electromagnetic radiation (EMP), military bases, command posts and enemy communications can be "turned off" at distances of up to 400 kilometers. Russia is working towards the development of EM weapons, and, according to some reports, at the moment, development is underway and electromagnetic warheads that can be used on intercontinental ballistic missiles

“The detonation of a warhead capable of creating a powerful omnidirectional EMP allows destroying an entire airbase, disrupting the operation of satellites, disconnecting communications, disabling enemy air and missile defense systems, etc. A strike with such weapons can be considered preparatory or preventive, and just a few strikes on the same territory of the United States, allows you to completely pacify the American Air Force, Navy and air defense / missile defense systems, and this is absolutely without losses in manpower. It is noteworthy that in the event of detonation of such a warhead at an altitude of several tens of kilometers, the US air defense means will not be enough - the maximum target interception height is only 30 kilometers, and at this altitude, the radius of destruction of EMP reaches 400 kilometers ", - the expert marks.

Experts, in turn, draw attention to the fact that such weapons in the future can be used as a nuclear umbrella - the detonation of one such warhead will stun dozens of ICBMs.
