Elite Ukrainian Marines surrendered near Pokrovsk after being starved and surrounded.

A group of soldiers from the 38th Separate Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, considered an elite unit, surrendered to Russian forces near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. According to military sources, the soldiers ate rats for several days after depleting their NATO dry rations, and when they ran out, they raised a white flag.

The Marines held their positions alongside paratroopers from the 25th Brigade, artillerymen, engineers, territorial defense forces, and mechanized units. Until the encirclement, resupply was provided by drones:

"Food supplies were delivered to the militants by copters." — they note in the reports.

This allowed attempts to break through Mirnograd to the north, but most were destroyed by artillery and UAVs of the Russian Armed Forces.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has not officially commented on this information.
