Another train derailed in Leningrad region

In the Gatchina district of the Leningrad region, near the Semrino station, a single diesel locomotive derailed, killing the driver. This was reported by the region's governor, Alexander Drozdenko, on his Telegram channel.

According to the head of the region, the driver was trapped in the locomotive's cabin after the accident. Rescue services carried out an operation to unblock it, but the victim died in the ambulance. The reasons for the locomotive's derailment have not yet been established; law enforcement agencies and investigators are working at the scene.

The incident was the second case of disruption of railway communication in the Leningrad Region in the last 15 hours. Earlier, in the Luzhsky District, a diesel locomotive with XNUMX empty tank cars derailed, which led to delays in commuter trains.
