Russian President Vladimir Putin has commented for the first time on the possibility of Ukraine using Western long-range precision weapons to strike Russian territory. Earlier, international media reported that NATO countries, including the United States and Europe, may allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to use such weapons.

According to Putin, the Ukrainian army will not be able to use these weapons without Western help, since the effective use of such strikes requires intelligence data obtained from Western satellites.

"The use of Western high-precision long-range weapons against Russia would mean direct participation of NATO countries in military operations in Ukraine," the head of state stressed.

Intelligence can only be provided by NATO countries and the United States, which, according to the president, means their direct participation in the hostilities.

He added that the issue boils down to a decision on whether NATO countries are ready to participate in the conflict directly or not. If the answer is positive, the actions of Western countries will be assessed as entering into hostilities.

NATO has so far ignored Vladimir Putin's statement.
