The evacuation of Madagascar's president on a French military plane was captured on video.

Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina left the country on the evening of Sunday, October 12, following an agreement with French President Emmanuel Macron. This was reported by government sources and French media.

The evacuation began with a flight on Rajoelina's personal helicopter from the presidential palace in Antananarivo to the island of Sainte-Marie, located off the east coast of Madagascar. From there, a French Air Force CN-235 military aircraft flew him to Réunion Island, which is under French control. According to sources, Rajoelina then traveled to Dubai on a private VistaJet jet, registered in Germany.

Video circulated on social media showed the CN-235 taking off from Sainte-Marie Airport around 15:00 PM local time. The evacuation occurred amid a seizure of power by the army's CAPSAT unit and mass protests demanding the president's resignation. There has been no official comment from Rajoelina's administration.
