Evacuations were carried out at Yekaterinburg factories due to the drone threat.

On the morning of October 8, employees of several defense plants in Yekaterinburg were evacuated due to a possible drone attack, the Sverdlovsk regional government reported.

"Each production facility has its own approved action plan for specific situations," regional authorities stated, without naming specific facilities.

According to EAD, the affected companies were the M.I. Kalinin Machine-Building Plant, the Ural Civil Aviation Plant, and Uraltransmash. At some plants, workers were sent to shelters for two hours, after which work resumed as usual. At the Kalinin Plant, as reported by It's My City, first-shift employees were sent home.

At the same time, mobile internet service was disrupted in the city. Motiv confirmed to Kommersant that they had received instructions from authorities to temporarily restrict internet access due to an air threat.

"Motiv" complied with the requirements and temporarily limited the provision of services until further notice," the company noted.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 53 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the country's territory overnight, but none were detected in the Sverdlovsk region or neighboring regions.
