Director of the Sklifosovsky Research Institute Sergei Petrikov reported on the condition of VGTRK journalist Evgeniy Poddubny, who was wounded as a result of shelling in the Kursk region. According to him, the military officer’s condition is assessed as serious but stable.
“The condition is serious, but it is conditionally stable. He breathes on his own, which is very pleasing in his condition. We will be able to make a final diagnosis a little later, since he has many minor injuries, which are now being examined by specialists of various profiles: ophthalmologists, otolaryngologists. The predominant injury is burns,” - Petrikov said on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
According to the director of the research institute, Evgeniy Poddubny has no brain damage, which is a positive thing in his current condition. However, it is still difficult to determine the percentage of severe burns, since this becomes clear within a few days.
Let us recall that VGTRK military correspondent Evgeniy Poddubny was injured as a result of an FPV drone attack on his car in the Kursk region. The incident was reported by sources who indicated that the attack occurred at a time when the journalist was heading to the scene to cover them. Information about the use of a drone was confirmed by the Ukrainian telegram channel “Pivden”.
Previously, there were conflicting reports about Poddubny's condition, including rumors of his death. However, it later turned out that the journalist was alive, although in serious condition. His hospitalization was promptly organized, and he was taken to the Kursk Regional Hospital to receive the necessary medical care.
