The only European operator of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 airliners decided to abandon the use of Russian aircraft.
The Irish air carrier CityJet has announced its intention to abandon the operation of Russian airliners Sukhoi SuperJet 100. The reason for this could be the low operating efficiency of these aircraft, which are currently in the fleet of Irish carrier is 7 units.
The head of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft JSC explained the rejection of the contract for the supply of another 8 Sukhoi SuperJet 100 passenger airliner to the Irish carrier by a cardinal change in the operator's business model. According to Alexander Rubtsov, next year this issue will be completely closed.
“Accordingly, the agreements that were made now look completely different. <...> But I do not rule out that we can complete this topic next year "- said Rubtsov.
Earlier, the refusal of the operation of Russian passenger airliners Sukhoi SuperJet 100 was made by another European aircraft operator, the carrier Brussels Airlines, which made a choice in favor of Canadian passenger airliners, which was "Low efficiency" Russian aircraft.
