The Russian military could soon significantly increase its drone attacks, increasing their number to 800 per strike, said Ukrainian radio communications expert Serhiy Beskrestnov, known by the call sign “Flash.” He estimates that Russia has already increased its production of attack drones several times over, and that new models are becoming increasingly resistant to electronic warfare and harder to intercept. This information, announced on June 19, 2025, has raised concerns among military analysts, highlighting the escalation of the technological component of the conflict.
Beskrestnov reported that in recent years Russia has increased the production of attack drones by five to seven times, which has allowed it to expand the scale of drone use. If earlier the Russian Armed Forces launched from 300 to 400 devices in one attack, now, according to the expert, we are talking about the potential of up to 800 drones at a time. Such growth became possible due to the modernization of existing production facilities and the construction of a new plant designed to produce UAVs. The specific dates for commissioning the enterprise are not specified, however, according to Ukrainian sources, work is being carried out at an accelerated pace.
The expert paid special attention to the modernization of Russian drones, which are actively used in strikes against infrastructure facilities. New modifications are equipped with antennas resistant to electronic warfare, which significantly complicates their neutralization. In addition, the Russian military is improving the tactics of using drones, combining mass launches with the use of false targets and routes designed to bypass air defense systems. According to Beskrestnov, such changes require the Ukrainian side to develop new counteraction methods, including strengthening detection and suppression systems.
