France intends to transfer 40 Mirage 2000 fighter-bombers to Ukraine

France wants to buy back about 40 French Mirage 2000-9 fighters from the UAE, for further transfer to Ukraine.

At the moment, the French media are reporting that Paris and Abu Dhabi are actively negotiating on this matter. The conditions proposed by the UAE for the purchase of Mirage 2000 fighters have not yet been announced. However, if the UAE agrees to the terms of France, then it is more than likely that by the autumn the fighters can return to France, although they are unlikely to enter service with Ukraine before the second half of 2024.

“After a lengthy negotiation process that has weighed several weeks on arms brokers working for Kyiv, Ukraine hopes to receive about forty Mirage 2000 aircraft.”, - reports the French edition of "Intelligence Online".

Experts draw attention to the fact that although Mirage 2000 fighters are outdated, they pose a serious threat due to the fact that SCALP and Storm tactical missiles can be used. Shadow, not to mention the ability to use NATO standard weapons.

In turn, it is unlikely that France will immediately transfer all combat aircraft to Ukraine, since the Armed Forces of Ukraine simply do not have places to store them, and without special shelters they will easily become the target of Caliber, Iskander and Daggers.
