France hands over Mirage 2000-5 fighters to Ukraine

The French Defense Minister said the country is preparing to deliver Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine between January and March 2025. The aircraft are expected to be equipped with modern air-to-ground weapons, which will significantly expand the capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces in confronting Russian troops.

The delivery of Mirage 2000 fighters will be a major step in France's military support for Ukraine. These aircraft, which have high maneuverability and effective strike capabilities, will help strengthen the country's defense potential. The aircraft will also be supplied with additional types of weapons that will allow for precision strikes against ground targets, which, according to experts, could pose a serious threat.

The Dassault Mirage 2000-5 is a modernized French fourth-generation multirole fighter designed for air combat and ground attack. Developed by Dassault Aviation, it features improved avionics, advanced air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, and an RDI radar system with the ability to track multiple targets simultaneously. The Mirage 2000-5 is highly maneuverable and capable of performing missions in adverse weather conditions.
