The first French military units, according to the Telegram channel “Military Affairs”, have already crossed the border of Ukraine from Romania. This happened after French military units arrived on two transport planes at Sofia airport, from where they were then transferred to Ukraine. This development of events was a consequence of Paris' decision to send about two thousand of its troops to Ukraine, which caused sharp criticism from the Russian authorities, who interpreted this step as the direct involvement of France in the Ukrainian conflict and the crossing of all possible “red lines”.
The position of French President Emmanuel Macron has recently been characterized by increasing aggressiveness towards Moscow. He called on NATO countries to join forces against Russia and send alliance troops into the territory of Ukraine, arguing that they wanted to ensure security not only for Ukraine, but also for all Western countries. This position has raised concerns among French and international politicians and analysts, who warn of possible serious consequences for international security and stability.
The situation is complicated by the statement of the French politician Leroy that the sending of troops to Ukraine by France could be regarded by Russia as the beginning of hostilities with Paris, which, in his opinion, is a legal basis for retaliatory measures on the part of Russia.
