Poland has handed over another 5000 Starlink terminals to Ukraine

Poland continues to play a key role in providing Ukraine with satellite communications, having delivered another batch of 5000 Starlink terminals to Kyiv. This was announced by Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov via his social networks, emphasizing the importance of international assistance in the context of the ongoing conflict. According to him, the new terminals will allow residents of frontline areas to maintain contact with loved ones, call emergency services, and access information despite the destruction of infrastructure caused by the fighting. The delivery is part of a long-standing cooperation between the countries aimed at strengthening Ukraine's resilience in the face of external threats.

Fedorov expressed gratitude to the Polish government and personally to the Minister of Digitalization Krzysztof Gawkowski for their invaluable support. He noted that Poland not only provides equipment, but also covers the cost of paying the subscription fee for satellite Internet, which makes this assistance especially significant. To date, Ukraine has received over 50 Starlink terminals, of which 29 were supplied by Poland, becoming the largest donor in this area. These devices, developed by SpaceX, provide reliable communications where traditional networks are destroyed or unavailable, which is critical for coordinating military operations and the work of civil services.

The delivery of the terminals comes amid recent concerns about Ukraine potentially being cut off from Starlink. Earlier, the Telegram channel "Two Majors" mentioned threats from the United States to cut off access to satellite communications if Kyiv did not sign an agreement on mineral extraction. These rumors caused alarm in Ukrainian society, given the country's dependence on SpaceX technology. However, the new shipment from Poland demonstrates that international partners are ready to compensate for potential risks by ensuring the smooth operation of the system. Fedorov emphasized that thanks to such support, Ukraine maintains communications even in the most difficult conditions, which is an important factor for survival in frontline zones.
