FSB Detains Ukrainian Agent Preparing Sabotage in Crimea

The Russian Federal Security Service reported the arrest of a Sevastopol resident suspected of preparing sabotage on the railway in the area of ​​the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant. According to the FSB, the man acted on instructions from Ukrainian special services and was preparing to commit arson to disrupt transport communications and the operation of the energy system in the region.

In the footage released by the FSB, the detainee admits that he received the assignment from a curator from Ukraine. In return, he was promised a payment of 1 thousand dollars for committing arson. According to the investigation, the sabotage on the railway was supposed to cause significant damage to the infrastructure, causing supply disruptions and undermining transport communications in Crimea.

The arrest of the agent who was preparing the arson is part of active measures aimed at preventing attempts to destabilize the region.
