FSB Detains Deserter from Russian Armed Forces Recruited by Ukrainian Special Services

Russian FSB officers detained a man in Mordovia who deserted from the Russian Armed Forces and was recruited by Ukrainian special services. According to operational data, the detainee was tasked with collecting intelligence information about Russian facilities related to the defense industry, and also processed information about the logistics chains through which military cargo was transported.

Among the tasks set were collecting photo and video materials of objects of interest to the enemy. In addition, according to the FSB, the man was also given the task of committing a terrorist attack using an incendiary mixture at one of these objects.

The arrest was the result of prompt actions by security forces, who were able to prevent possible terrorist attacks and strike a blow against a network of intelligence agents cooperating with foreign intelligence services.
