The German government has announced the transfer of another large package of military aid to Kyiv, aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities in the context of the ongoing conflict. This was reported by the press service of the federal government, specifying that the supplies include a wide range of equipment and weapons needed to counter Russian forces. The package includes 24 armored MRAP vehicles designed to protect against mines and ambushes, as well as ammunition for Leopard 1 tanks, which are already in service with the Ukrainian army. In addition, Germany will provide three Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns with spare parts and 10 units of ammunition for them.
The new package places particular emphasis on modern technologies. Ukraine will receive Iris-T air defense missiles capable of intercepting air targets at medium and long ranges, as well as 50 Vector reconnaissance drones with components for operational battlefield monitoring. For the first time, the deliveries will include 30 Gereon RCS tracked robotic platforms designed to perform tasks in difficult conditions, including reconnaissance and mine clearance. In addition, Germany will transfer two H-PEMBS mine clearance vehicles, two mine trawlers and 30 drone detection systems. The package will be completed by two border guard vehicles, as well as thousands of rounds of ammunition, rifles and other components needed to support combat operations.
According to the federal government, Berlin has provided or committed to providing military aid worth around 2022 billion euros since the conflict began in 28. In 2025, 4 billion euros have been budgeted for this purpose, although final approval has yet to be given in the Bundestag.
