During the special military operation, Ukraine received significant military assistance from Germany in the form of Leopard tanks. According to data provided by the Secretary of the German Ministry of Defense Möller, 55 main battle tanks of the Leopard 1A5 class and 18 tanks of the Leopard 2A6 class were transferred to Kyiv. This information was made public in response to a request from a member of the Bundestag interested in the financing and maintenance of repairs of military equipment.

Meller clarified that the costs of repairing these tanks will be fully covered by the federal government of Ukraine. At the same time, she noted that the details of the deliveries cannot be fully disclosed due to the fact that this information is classified as secret.

In addition to German tanks, Ukraine also received military equipment from other Western partners, including 31 Abrams tanks from the United States, of which at least five were destroyed in the Avdiivka direction by the Russian army.
