Germany said it can no longer transfer Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine

Germany cannot transfer more Patriot air defense systems to Kyiv, the head of the Ministry of Defense said.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that the country does not have the ability to transfer additional installations of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) to Ukraine beyond those that have already been transferred. According to him, Germany has already transferred three such installations to Ukraine, which is a quarter of all available stocks of this type of weapons.

Pistorius stressed that Germany seriously supports Ukraine in its struggle for sovereignty and security, but has now exhausted its ability to further transfer these systems. The minister also noted that other allied countries of Ukraine should consider the possibility of transferring their air defense systems, since Berlin is no longer able to provide the Ukrainian army with air defense systems.

The German authorities plan to deliver the third Patriot system to Ukraine after completing training for the Ukrainian military to work with the complex. Training is being carried out intensively in order to integrate this system into Ukraine's defensive capabilities as quickly as possible.
