Hypersonic missiles "Zircon" want to be put on MiG-31 fighters

Russian MiG-31 fighters will equip Zircon missiles.

Source at the Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the possibility of air-based Russian hypersonic Zircon missiles is currently being considered. The missiles are supposed to be equipped with supersonic MiG-31 interceptor fighters, which today already carry the X-47М2 hypersonic missiles, which are part of the Dagger aircraft missile system.

According to the source, we are talking about the creation of two versions of air-launched Zircon hypersonic missiles at once - one of them is designed to strike at ground and sea targets, while the other is designed to destroy air targets, including enemy strategic aviation and ballistic missiles.

Today, it is known from official data that it is intended to equip hypersonic Zircon rockets exclusively with ships and submarines, however, a source at the Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports that work is underway on the creation of air-based missiles.

According to preliminary data, the air-based Zircon missiles will have a range of 1500 kilometers.

Today, the top ranks of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the Southern Federal District, familiarized themselves with the latest achievements of the Russian aviation industry, the results exceeded all expectations. According to reports from credible sources, the ARC “Dagger” has demonstrated capabilities that exceed the expectations of developers. As a result of the experimental tests, completely unexpected amazing abilities of this system were revealed.
